Communication skills were challanging for me with Dr. Nikolai, speedy consultations, does not take the time to see the problem.
However, what I really want to report on is not concerning Nikolai but more of the Ranheim center. I have received an email by Helfo to make cervical cancer test. So I called to set an appointment, and kindly asked to have a female doctor as it was suitable for this delicate test. The reception lady in the center told me it is not possible, I asked her agian that I am a Muslim and I cannot have a male doctor to conduct such senseyive test. The reception lady was so angry to me, and told me to go to a private female doctor because they cannot have the test for me. I told her it is not true and that I can have a female doctor from the clinic for just this consultation. The recption lady was angry on the phone and told me to change my doctor to a female doctor (which takes time in Norway) since I wanted to do the test. She said she will check with the clinic and get back to me and hang up the phone while I was talking! It was so disrepectful, and did not take my need into consideration. It made me postpone my consulation because I was so angry from the way it was handeled! I hope this can be a constructive feedback that communication is fundemntal for people to seek health care. Such disrespectful actions can make people skeptical towards seeking timely health care. Please take that to the clinic and act on it. Thank you
